How do you Set Selection to Selected Items as default?

Hello. When I select an item, I want to be able to have the time selection brackets be the same as the selected item. I can do this if I right click on the top time line (and selected Set Selection to Selected Items), but I don't want to have to do this everytime. I know there must be a way, but I can't figure it out. Help is appreciated. Thanks.

you can set it up here: options->preferences->editing behavior->mouse. where it says "doubleclicking items:" select "sets time selection to item" this way you just have to doubleclick any item to set the time selection to it!

I see that preference option, but it also has a "shift toggles" modifier, so that when I'm trying to select multiple items by holding down the shift key, and then I double click, the darn editor opens. Very annoying. Is there another way, without double clicking?

check out the actions. there is one called "set time selection to selected item" (or something like that). assign it for instance to ctrl+t. or you could customize your toolbar and set up a dedicated button for the action. or customize your right-click context menu.
