Hi, I have been learning how to use subtractive synths by myself (like Synth1 and the like) for sometime and I think I am finally getting some understunding of them. That is, I can think of a sound and without (to much) guess work I can get something like it . Now I would like to move to other kind of synthesys, can anyone recomend me what should I try next. If your advise could include a good tuturial and a free synth, it would be great and a big time saver. I dont mind of learning it by myself but I would like to move a bit faster. Any recomendation? Thanks in advance. ________

I am not a synth geek myself - just know the basics. FM synthesis seems to be challenging - googling 'fm synthesis tutorial' will yield some info I gather.

Try wavetable synthesis and wave sequencing. Check out any Waldorf synth (PPG 2.V, Largo) and Korg Legacy Collection Digital (Wavestation). FM synthesis is a bit more complex.

Hi thanks for the replys, I decided to go with FM synths I will try either the freeware synth FMMF, it does have a nice manual so I will try it. Or I will use the FM8 demo and this video-tutorial @technogremlin - divide to conquer ;) ________
