Import to Protools LE from Tascam

I'm about to get the Tascam DP-01FX. But I won't if I can't import my recordings into Protools LE, where I can do editing work. Does anyone know if I can do that? It comes with a 40 Gig hard drive. Thanks. GtrDude

Well I checked out the site... read the pdf file... It advertises "USB 2.0 for backup, and CD burning" and pretty much leaves it at that. Makes me thing that it'll be backed up in some compressed native format, to be loaded back on the unit, and that you'll have to spend a ton of time, burning CD's of 1 track at a time, to actually import and export your work. these are just PURE GUESSES, and impressions I got from the advertising, i'd really think, if capable, there would be a whole section on computer integration, file compatabillity, or XP, OSX compatabillity in the product information. all it simply says is "For Backup" I'd try to d/l the owners manual if you can, or read through one at a music store before you buy one, unless someone who owns one, comes on here, and answers first.

GtrDude , Perfect timing... Just as I'm xferring 8 CDR's worth of tracks from a **** "workstation". Don't know what my client has, could be Yamaha or Roland.. Poor dude must have spent hours of consolidating ( merging/optimizing/??? ) his files on my request. And..all tracks are on a single CDR, ( at 110 MB each )so obviously there was no other way to do it. So...read the manual in detail, if it's at all possible to unload wave or aiff files. Also..see if that box has an ADAT compatible optical out port, so 8 tracks could be dumped over to PT in one go ! Digitally ! good luck,
