i changed my hd with OS 9.22 and PT 5.11 from an older G4 AGP 500mhz to an a bit newer dual 1ghz g4 , now PT and the OS (not in osx ) cannot find all connected ATA drives . So far i know there are two versions of OS 9.22 ( a newer one for the dual G4) . Is there a simple driver (ata) or other file to replace or add , or is a fresh install of the "newer" 9.22 necessary ? thx in advance BTW protools gives an -36 error when opening another session then from system HD (maybe same reason ). creating a session on SYS HD works..

RE: OT upgrade 9.22 to 9.22 Dual

....checked cables + jumpers ( i bought the g4 just sh ) they where indeed misconfigured (master/slave instead cs) but i was reffering to (found in digi compa docs): ------- OS 9.2.2 won't recognize internal ATA drives. There are two versions of Mac OS 9.2.2 with different support for ATA hard drives. Apple has 'silently' upgraded 9.2.2 (without giving it a new number) to recognize the new ATA 100 bus on the Dual Processor ("mirrored doors") G4s. These machines include the dual 867, dual 1GHz, dual 1.25 GHz. If you install a hard drive containing an 'old' version of OS 9.2.2 into one of these machines 3 empty ATA slots and boot directly from that OS 9.2.2 drive, the internal hard drive on the ATA 100 bus (and any partitions on it) won't be recognized. ------- and thats exactly what happens ... so: is it possible to add or change simply few files to the OS ? thx in advance

for the people who are interested : copying "MAC OS ROM " from the newer to the "older" version of OS 9.22 does the trick.
