Long story short: I suddenly got that message and of course defraged right away (although I defrag nightly). Still got the message. I removed the LA-2A BF plugin and then reinserted it. That was it. I've found that most of my anomilies are caused by a funky plug in that just needs to be bumped. DV
I can totally relate to the funky plug-in issue. A lot of the problems I have had with PTLE have been plug-in related. Unless I am sure that I really need it I am very wary about loading plug-ins - especialy demo versions.

I had this for a while too - then I found that Windows had changed that HD from DMA to PIO & I couldn't manually change it back. I looked on the Western Digital support site to find that XP will automatically switch it if it encounters a certain number of errors accessing data. The fix is to uninstall that IDE controller in device manager & let it get redetected. Worked for me.
