Hi everyone, I'm new to Reaper and glad to use it, and could be even more if I could get that point solved : when creating a track with a vsti, for example Pianoteq, no way to control it with my m-audio Keystation 61es external usb keyboard, other than in midi "All channel" or midi 1st channel. If I use the built in virtual keyboard and choose for example midi channel 8, everything's fine. I've checked every kind of options (read the UserGuide) and I know I'm missing something but can't see what ? Help someone...please. Thanks. Pierre (from France , near Paris)

Put the js plug Midi_router before the vsti and change to record midi output. I'm normally routing from one midi track to 16 vsti tracks and can pick any one of them with Midi_router. Hope this works for you.
THanks but sorry, doesn't work... The strangest thing is that if I configure virtual kb to channel 8 (for example) and change the input channel to the same, it works. But can't do that with my external kb device. No signal, only on 1...or All.
Isn't there a way to set the midi output on the keyboard. Most do. I use a pro keys 88 and all I need to do is press channel assign and the number for the midi channel.
ONce again, thanks a lot. No parameter switch or button on the m-audio keystation 61 es...but I don't have nothing to change under Cubase or Tracktion to get it work...it does it automatically... This must be something else.
I have just rechecked with the virtual keyboard and the midi router definitely works. Make sure the track is record enabled and record monitoring is on. Then just change the output channel of the router to the desired track. If you want to record to the new channel, set to record midi output.
Does it mean that all the vsti are played only on the 1st midi channel ? I can't believe it. If so, how do I send signal to another midi channel on a multichannel vsti (like sampletank, for example) or just choose to play a monochannel vsti on a different midi channel ?
No, the post you just replied to was SPAM (text containing certain keywords "Midi input" copied from another site, one of the many spambot techniques to distract from the real purpose of the post - leaving a link). There is no "MIDI Toolbar" in Reaper. ;)
