space bar?

Hi--first post. I've downloaded the manual and am puzzled by the space bar/play command. It seems to me that after hitting space bar to play, hitting it again should stop the playback where it is at the time, (like the middle of the song) but it goes back to the beginning. I've messed with preferences to no avail. Maybe I'm just slow??? My studio is based around a Yamaha aw4416 and I'm considering going DAW. thanks darius

Pressing spacebar while playing means sttop (as in stop and return to where you where before you hit play), if you want it to stop and remain where it is use cmd + space. Regards, - Jonas

Thanks for the reply. Yes I read that in the manual but on my imac running leopard hitting command/space bar brings up a "spotlight" window in the upper right hand corner and the song keeps playing. The only way I can find to stop in place is to click on pause in the transport bar with the mouse. Darius

You can always just change it so it does what you wan't. Find the action for it and assign the key
