Mute?

Is there a mute tool in reaper to mute and unmute items(I call them clips)? Something like the "X" mute tool in cubase. Edit: I made a custom toggle mute by right clicking on the toolbar.

you can have mute, fx etc buttons on each of your your items. they have to be enabled in the preferences though. prefs -> appearance -> media...item icons.

Select the items, right-click > item Settings > Mute I have set my Preferences (> Appearance > Media) so that "Mute" is enabled but "Mute off" is not. So the buttons appear on the items only when they are muted. And I take the same approach with "Locked" and "FX" to keep the clutter down.
