DVD2SVCD 1.10.1 support for 90 min cdr.

Good to see support in the bitrate section for 90 min Cdr's, however, a search of the forum shows that when people talk about 90 min cdr's they are 800MB but I recently bought some 90 min cdr's to test my burners compatability but they are only 790MB in size. When I tried to burn an image file it got through about 90% and came up with an error. I'm not sure as to the cause, my burner may not support 80+ minutes, the image may have been too big for a 790MB disk, or I could have just stuffed it up. Can anyone shed some light on this or tell me what figure I should put in the bitrate section (cd size) to get my 790MB disks to work? Thanks Phan

900 is the number ;) brand of the cdr burner ? is it compatible with overburning ? is it setted to overburn ? i know the info of the cd size shows you 790, but believe there are 900 inside :D

RE: DVD2SVCD 1.10.1 support for 90 min cdr.

When I make Cue/Bin files for my 99 Minute cd-r discs I can burn almost 1GB on them and windows states that the Cue is in fact close to 1GB. Caveats abound about 90 and 99 minute cd-r's though. 1. Your burner must support them. 2. Your CD-R software must support them. 3. You loose chapters near the end. This is unavoidable since you go beyond what the player thinks you can actually do. 4. Each DVD player reacts differently to these discs. Case in point my Apex can play all the way to the end of whatever I burn, but my Pioneer needs to be about 30mb's less then what can potentially be burned. The best software for burning these 90 and 99 minute CD-R discs I have found is VCDEasy or CDRWIN(you might have to edit the CUE file to remove out of spec times for the chapters that won't work anyway.) Check the Q+A there is a link(might be down) of a site that lists CD-R burners and their known capacity. Mark

brand of the cdr burner ? is it compatible with overburning ? is it setted to overburn ? I am using a Cyber drive 16x/12x/40x. has details and says it is compatible with overburn up to 99:59, so it doesn't seem to be the burner. Also, I had a look ad the cd itself and there seems to be a section on the outer rim that doesn't look like it has been used, so that may narrow it down to the software. I use Daemon with clone CD to copy the image file and when it said that the file was more than 80 min it gave the the option to overburn or to continue writing to the end of the media. I selected overburn, so I will try again with continue writing... and see how I go, failing that I will try Markrb's suggestion of vcdeasy. Will let you know the results. Phan
