RE: why substation alpha cant open *.wav?

Just make sure the wav file you created really is 8-bit mono PCM wave file. (Like by opening it in winamp, and see the info about the file, or opening it with CoolEdit) In VirtualDub, make sure you set "Full Processing Mode" for the audio, set the proper conversion (8-bit mono, with any sampling), and do NOT set any compression. Personally, I've never had any problem with it.

Ah, yes, there's one more thing I remember : If nothing else, put your PC's locale to English (U.S. or Canada... shouldn't matter). System language can remain what you have already. (info taken from - kudos to Liisachan - The article says "not to have 'Japanese' as locale. I'm not sure exactly which locales work and which don't.)

Handles only SRT subs so far, but after doing the proper timing you can use SSA to convert the SRT subs into SSA. Of course, that way there is no syllable highlighting possible, like with SSA ...

hahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!! In the very lot of helpness from so many warmhearted subfans in this forum, i find this important problem,a very very big bug in SSA, IT JUST SUPPORTS "LOCAL IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE"! quote from SYLF: ---------------------------------------------------------------- Ah, yes, there's one more thing I remember : If nothing else, put your PC's locale to English (U.S. or Canada... shouldn't matter). System language can remain what you have already. ----------------------------------------------------------------- After i change my win98 local area from chinese to "england", every thing is ok,virtualdub\cooledit\audacity.....etc. all converted wav is accessed by SSA. The author of SSA is verrrrrrrrrrrrrry abnormal.
