The font used by the VU meters is "Arial". You can try using the 64 bit version of REAPER -- it uses a completely different system for drawing text, and will likely work. If you figure out what it is causing this, perhaps we can look at workaround for the 32 bit version, too.. Being able to configure a box to reproduce this on would be very helpful.

RE: Reaper and Snow Leopard

Hi, Justin. I loaded the 64-bit version of 3.4 and the text for Reaper is back. Still missing in the 32-bit version. Unlike 64-bit 3.35, the 64-bit version of 3.4 also loads Ozone (which is what started this whole thing... see the separate thread on the Ozone UI being broken that I started before finding this thread), but the text is still missing in that plug-in. So at least I've got basic function back. I'll be happy to provide you with my system profiler info. Would that help you? How do I get it to you?

Just installed OS X 10.6.3 Combo updater. Behavior is exactly the same. Fonts not rendering in the 32-bit Reaper interface, but working in the 64-bit interface. Fonts not working in Ozone at all.
