Lost Navigator in new laptop install-help!

Hello all: I recently bought a Dell laptop dual core and installed Reaper (v2.58). Trouble is I can't locate the Navigator-the checkbox is checked in View, but I can't find it on the screen. I even deinstalled and reinstalled. The new machine is Vista (oh yay...) but that shouldn't make a difference. Everything is functional but can't locate Navigator. Is there a configuration of Windows Vista I'm missing here? Anyone got any advice?

Is it in the docker?

Check the navigator co-ordinates in reaper.ini. maybe it's off in hyperspace somewhere. Mine currently are: [navigator] wnd_vis=1 wnd_left=802 wnd_top=754 wnd_width=418 wnd_height=215 dock=1

Search for "REAPER.ini" (without the quote, and with Reaper closed of course)and either delete it or rename it, then start reaper.

Tried using search in Vista for REAPER.ini, and nothing came up. Would it be included in the Reaper program files installation?

The folder may well be hidden - you'll need to disable that function first. Perhaps C:\USERS\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Reaper in Vista (I just stole that from Steindork in another thread who stole it from another thread).

RE: Lost Navigator in new laptop install-help!

Finally! Vista doesn't like making anything easy for users. Kept doing searches, but it wasn't until I noticed the advanced search had a check box for searching hidden files that I could locate the ini file. I even tried the path name that Darkstar had included (including Roaming), but nothing was showing up. But, like I say, I checked the show hidden files box, and turned up one item in configuration files and under properties it indicated it was a ini file. Deleted and got my Navigator back. Course, I also lost the pathway to my separate VST folder and past projects, but it was a small price to pay for getting Navigator back. Thanks very much to all who helped with suggestions. That's why I love this forum.Cheers!
