Question on bitrate tab.

I use DVD2SVCD using TMPGEnc to make VCD's. I notice some noise, freezing, blocking near the end of a disk. The disks I burn to, my DVD player or my burner is suspect. Since it only occurs near the end of the disk the first thing to try would be not to write there. So I set on bitrate tab 50 100 150 200 250 on down the column, 740 size on down with a one in cd for each block. Figuring this to set about 50 minutes worth on each disk of the movie. However, the cut point remains 735.00. What am I doing wrong? How else can the cut point be changed? Thanks for reading on this.

RE: Question on bitrate tab.

In this point I'm sure: If you set CD-number in every row to '1', you will get one CD per movie. Unless you check 'min.avg', if you check it, it will use more CDs of course, but it won't fill them correct, the last one will almost never be filled properly. I don't understand why your CD-size setting will drop back to default, this should not happen. I always use 795MB for every line and it never changed back. The second line can't start with zero, because every possible movie lengths can only fit in one line. If it the first line is 0-50min 1CD 740MB and the second is 0-100min 2CDs 740MB and you do a movie with 20 min, what line should DVD2SVCD chose? It can only choose one, so the second line has to start with 50-100 min, so DVD2SVCD can know with 20 min you only want 1 CD. But maybe I just misunderstood your problem, english is not my native language, so if it doesn't work with my hint, please explain your problem again, or maybe some other person knows what you want and can help you. You can also post your logfile (as clearly ststed in the sticky 'how to make a good post'), so we possibly can see where your problem lies. If you didn't find anything in Q&A altough you have read it(which I have to doubt), please read it again, especiality Q36. A search with e.g 'image size too big' would have brought you some threads about some similar problems. No offense, but this are the facts. ;)

RE: Question on bitrate tab.

I have been off work with a detached retina for 6 weeks. I have read this forum and the webpage a lot! I am also a little slow. I know you guys don't speak English natively but most are very good at it. I also need to work on the clarity of my posts, but when I read Q36 I had discounted it because it was referencing CCE and no mention was made of TMPGEnc. If it had said TMPGEnc works the same way it would have been much more clear to me. One thing I have learned on the net, after all these years, is I am not alone. Someone has to ask, when we are not clear on a point. Even as simple as this is to you guys, it is not that easy to us. You guy's are ruthless to new people like me, but I stepped up and took the 'slam' and got my question answered. As far as the log file goes I did not deem it necessary as the only problem was cut point 735. I ran with new settings and saw 6958 or something (way off) I stopped this run and and am trying another one at present. Remember, I am running a dual Xeon PII 450 2meg cache machine that in it's day was awesome but is dated now and takes several hours to generate a logfile. I am using 1150 as a cbr setting with minimum average checked. With my new cd sizes entered I should be much closer to filling up 2 cd's equally and only with about 500 megs on them. The problem I had with the cd size is you must tab from the field I was down arrowing away. I will report back later and thank you very much.
