I just started fooling around with an old Hendrix song today and this happened, it's my version of his very lovely Little Wing, and I do hope it's respectful. I haven't copied it exactly, I given it a bit of Mark Knopflerish feel, (I think). I don't know if it needs much doing to it, so have at it
Great work! I love this song! You did amazing work. Everything has beautyful "flow". Only thing I would expect you to improve is vocal. You have very nice voice but some practice would give it professional level. Lot of people (me too) say that Jimi has great voice, so it's hard to stay in line with him. Guitars are amazing!! Keep on! :) I'm listening to your track 3rd time now! :)
I wasn't really happy with the vocal on this so I did something a bit different, just trying to paint some imagery with the voice (after my testosterone injection). It's artistic license, and Jimi would approve
Thats a great midi drum track TED, if you don't mind me asking how did you program it ? midi keyboard, electronic drum kit, or the really scary way mouse clicks or drag n drop from AD with some tweaks. Great job either way. As usual great guitar work, good sounds ( Freeamp ?) I might me a traditionalist but i just can't get past Jimmi's vocals, not knockin yours at all, but i just hear jimmi's voice & melody. Great work Ted Cheers
Yeah it's one tough act to follow Wolfman ;) I couldn't copy the vocal but I think the words are important, I have tried to do something that sits in the mix ok and gets the message across, but if you are a Hendrix fan when you hear it fresh you are not expecting what I have done. I took a risk, anything other than Jimi doing this is going to fall a long way short of the mark. The drums are done in AD, only took me a couple of hours. The secret was in knowing what Mitch Mitchel did. I remembered he played jazzy fills with a swing beat, whatever the main beat of the song was, and most were straight 4/4, so that's all I did. I remember thinking it was odd at the time. I set out the main song with a few straight patterns then I found some funk fills with a swing beat and spliced them in - I reduced the velocities to get a softer sound to the drums too. I'm using Guitar Rig 3 on this Thanks for the feedback
Good grief - you sure can play. Wonderful touch and tone. You've picked another one of my favorite songs to work on, and I like your version a lot. It is different enough from Hendrix's version to stand on its own. T

Lovely playing! Really enjoyed listening to this. Far as your vox go, the later versions were a marked improvement :) It really bugged me who you sounded like (at times), and it finally dawned on me that your tone and inflection reminded me of - please don't kill me - Gordon Lightfoot. Not all the time mind you, just here and there. Not a bad thing, really :D Thank you for sharing this one!
