Aurora Igniter Does NOT work w/ PT6

My problems seem to be even worse!!!! I am running Logic 6.1,HD3,OS 10.2.6 and the IgniterX LT and get kernel panics every other minute I tried reinstalling all software and hardware but no go. I even had my dual 1.25 G4 motherboard swapped out by Apple and replaced all 2 Gigs of RAM. Neither Digi,Emagic or Aurora were able to even grasp whats going on all they do is point the finger at eachother instead of tryin to resolve this. When reading the crash log it usualy points to a video problem. If anybody is using a similar system let me know if it works for you (or not!!) RE: Aurora Igniter Does NOT work w/ PT6

Gallery, I have VirtualVTR, but do not use it simply because it requires a whole other CPU! It's enough trouble lugging my current rig and 1 CPU around town for various jobs. Carrying 2 CPU's around is only more hassle and more liability! I have seen the IgniterX work in PT6 on an HD system, so I was wondering if the TDM system lacks the PCI/processing ability to function reliably in PT6 with the IgniterX. Oh and I have tried both the IgniterX and IgniterX Lite, both with the same poor results as described in my first post in this thread.

I absolutely concur with moogboys findings. That set up works fine in OS9 but does not in OSX. I see the same annoying -6042 when hitting stop. I have contacted Digidesign and Aurora but neither seemed very interested in accepting responsibility. The issue is very easy to reproduce. Hopefully a fix is not too far away. In the meantime it should not be listed as a working configuration in the compatability pages.

Hi folks, We've been working with Aurora on the -6042 issue, and Aurora will be posting a new driver for the Igniter LT and XLite shortly. We'll post information on this thread when it becomes available. -Jordan

The new driver is available at While this driver is not officially qualified yet, initial testing shows that it resolves -6042 errors with both Mix and HD. Note, you must uncheck "mirror on desktop" in the Aurora Ignition Control software. -Jordan
