This post does not link to any warez are downloads... it does admit they are out there thou. I'm not breaking any rules here I believe? What I want to do is discuss the errors in this encode and find out why it happened and also if the error caused the audio sync problem. The.Lord.of.the.Rings.The.Two.Towers.DVDScr.XViD-ViTE This 2cd release from Vite has two problems on the first cd. Around 7.48 into the cd1 is the first problem. I have had people with slower PC's tell me the problem can even crash any and all players. Its a nasty looking blocks for a sec or two during this scene. If anyone knows what this is please let me know. I think its a Bframe error, but I dont know for sure. I also think this error caused the audio to get out of sync. And if you have the cd1 and want to fix audio sync use nandub and set the audio interleaving > sync to -225. Of course there is always the internal release... The.Lord.of.the.Rings.The.Two.Towers.AC3.DVDScr.XViD.INTERNAL-ViTE IMHO its pretty bad when one of the top release groups on the scene has these kinds of problems.

Well, if vite use one of the 'unstable' builds without themselves nor the devels knowing whether or not it's MPEG4-compatible, they certainly were in for it. Not much to say about this, no-one should really use an unstable build if not for his own testing-pleasure at home.

Exact, it could not be a B-frame error, beccause their's No B-frames, nor GMC, nor QPel in this release. But I don't know anything about VITE ( beccause I usually don't watch US movies, but french's), but it's not really a surprise, that this "top realease...." group made a "damaged" XviD. Beccause if I were the one who made this film, I would have set B-Frame=ON , to put a 180min movie on 2CD ( with 640x272 res.). But it's my personnal taste, of course ;)

I did not check the file for any of that, and thanks for the info. Whatever it was(bad frame I guess) I belive it caused the audio sync problem and why does it cause the player to crash(any player)? And as for settings and stuff... they have to follow some rules are there stuff will get nuked  this makes me wonder why this was not nuked in the first place? Corrupt frames causing player crash, audio sync issues in cd1 I have seen other release nuked for alot less
RE: sort of a funny thing happened on the release scene....
I have a fast CPU almost a 1.7ghz athlonXP and it does not crash for me. People with slower PC's that I know have told me it crashed. I have made it crash with me to... I turned the priority to low and played the file while doing some heavy multitasking.

I know that that this isn't really directly related to warez and I thank Neverlift for bringing possible compatibility problems to our attention. But I'd rather we didn't discuss a ripped copy using software released here. I think Teegedeck said all that can be said on the matter, and without knowing the exact build they used and settings its hard to find the problem. Ill definitely look into any compatibility problems as im updating my filter for the next release, but for now ill close this as I think its bad to connect the forum in any way to the warez release scene. Sorry if that seems harsh or strict, but im thinking of the forum. Cheers, -Nic
