LFOs in midi editor

Sorry if this has already been addressed. Reaper has a wonder LFO feature in its automation lane for VSTs. I need one in the midi editor for my external synths. Am I missing something? I have version 4. Would upgrading give me this feature? Thank you. Jimmy

automation should be possible if your midi-editor-thing supports it.

spaceanimal, there is a reaper plugin called ReaControlMIDI. You can use this to control CC values the same way as you would a standard FX parameter, through modulation or via timeline envelope. It looks like this: The JS plugin mentioned previously would be great if you wanna place the CC values within the MIDI editor though, which does actually give you more editing flexibility if needed. Try both, use the one that works best for you, and let us know if you have any issue :)

Noob question: Are CC automation preferred because you need to control real hardware synthesizers? Or is there a benefit even with VSTi?

Dark Star, I downloaded your plugin. Thank you. It's not showing up. Where should I put it? I put it in the Reaper effects folder. C-H Yes, I'm tryting to get time sync midi for my Yamaha AN1x--the LFO etc on that synth is random numbers from 1-127. Thank you Jimmy
