So, I've been writing compulsively for the last week, and I've come out with 4 songs all written and recorded in 60 minutes or less (ok, ok, I cheated by 15 min on one of 'em). So, here's all four of them I won't bore you with stories or anything, I'd just like your honest feedback on everything. Thanks, guys. ***EDIT*** Also, I co-opted these songs into my side project, adding in one of my good friend's female vocals:
------------------------ 1997 Z3 1.9L - Downing Atlanta Super Charger,Rspeed Check Valve,VDO Boost Gague,Custom Panel,NGK Plugs,SS CatBack Exhaust,Dinan CAI,Ron Stygar Short Shifter,Ron Stygar Clutch Stop,Alpine CD Tuner,MBQ 5.25" Drivers 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII
Pretty cool stuff, skyfire. I'll admit it is not a style I would listen to regularly, but these tracks are definitely enjoyable. You have a great voice, and a pretty solid style of singing. Nice work on the harmonies. Of the four, I would have to say Crecy stood out the most. Very nice solo work on the vocals. I'm hearing a great blend of styles and instrument work in all of the songs. Instruments are nice and subtle and do not take away from your voice. The only part I feel is missing is a bit of percussion.. but that's just preference. Either way, your songs are great with or without percussion. Either way, solid work. Keep it up!
Thanks, man. The main reason I've left percussion out is that I've yet to fins an electronic replacement for real-sounding drums (appropriate for this more acoustic style). Trip-hop reacts well to my samples, but this stuff, it just takes away from it most of the time. I'm still learning the drums part of this whole engineering thing.
