The Toneport GX is a decent USB device for someone just starting. I used to own one. I now have a UX2 I think PODfarm plugin rocks and there are a bunch of nice freeware VST amps out there also (the latest I tried being the TSE X30, search the forum for more info). I set my UX2 asio panel at 256 and with the slider at minimum (sorry I don't remember the name of these!) and latency is fine for recording. I got some clips on my page somewhere. Let me know if you are looking to hear something special.

RE: LINE6 POD Studio GX

I found a midi blues file on my hard drive.Couldn't resist loading it into Reaper(Gotta love it) and using my GX.Not mixed or anything really and no host treatment of the guitar apart from a couple of VSTs I keep on my Master.Recorded,"Wet" out-of the box with a patch I came up with ages ago. There's a bit of digital distortion from not cutting some of the bottom off the Guitar but I wanted it untreated. .
