Thanks chris, I'm sure that really helped everyone out a lot. From the product info page previously linked to: Digi 001's Pro Tools LE software enables you to record and play back up to 32 tracks of audio at sample rates of up to 48 kHz.

That's awesome Chris. I'll have to check that out. why cant you apply a stereo plug to a stereo track and just have em panned the same?

Because it won't work...bit-slitting technology basically encodes one high-resolution channel across two "normal" channels. If you were to apply an effect to those two channels and put them back together you wouldn't wind up with an effected high-resolution track. Also, it should be noted that if you were to use the 001 in this type of scenario, you wouldn't be able to mix in the box, and you'd only get four tracks in and out. In other words, you'd basically turn your 001 into a four-track recorder. Not sure why you'd want to do that. But you could. -Duardo

Missing the point........1st post asked if the 001..........ALONE( he didn't mention any help to the 001), could record at 96K...............answer is still NO.
