No Sound using XP

hello all the box: a7v333 athlon amd 1800+ 512mb ram g force 4 64mb tdk 40x burner the prob: no sound using third party sw or pt. i went thru all the trouble shoots (i think) i can't load the wave driver files. when i pick the oemsetup file there is nothing there. i burned the files on disk and nothing, i picked right from the "c" drive and nothin. i 'm going nuts, and i know from reading some of the other posts that this is just the begginig. all help will be greatly appreciated, with thanks in advanced

Jms- thanks for replying. yes the install went smoothly and yes i opened PT clicked new session and the interface opened (i'm not familiar enough with the program to know what that screen is called) yes i followed the pdf's i checked all physical connections i had no problems on the 98 install... first shot everything worked don't understand, and i'm getting frustrated FYI 3rd party SW i'm using Acid pro 3.0 Cool Edit Pro 2.0 the damn wavedriver won't load. i follow the add hardware direction along with the pdf and i get to the oemsetup.ini i click it and there is nothing there. aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! i must of did it 50 times help!

Hello, To ensure that ProTools is O.K. select File -> New Session, and create one, then File -> New Track. If the track is dark grey, then the ProTools driver isn't installed. If it is light grey then it is fine. I had some problem with the wave driver too. These are pretty basic suggestions, 1. Unzip the wave driver file in a folder you create for it. 2. When you are asked to locate the folder, browse to the location where you unzipped. Keep going deeper into folders until it shows up. If it asks for any drivers other than oem, go back to the oem folder for them. Mine crashed after install but it worked fine after reboot. Best, Jeff
